I love Street Fighter, I really do, but this latest installment feels more like a money play than a real expansion. In this new installment, it has been confirmed that there are four new characters: Elena, Rolento, Hugo, and Poison. 3 out of four of these characters are basically imports from the Street Fighter X Tekken game. In addition there are six new stages: Half Pipe, Cosmic Elevator, Mad Gear Hideout, Jurassic Era Research Facility, Blast Furnace, and Pitstop 109. These are all directly from Street Fighter x Tekken.
The only actually exciting news surrounding the game is its rumors. It is alleged that you can use a Red Focus, which absorbs multiple hits. It is also said you can opt to choose both Ultras, but they will deal less damage. Lastly you can apparently delay your Wake Up by holding MP + HP. These rumors, if true, would be huge in changing how the game is played. Anyone who has had to struggle through frame traps or “invincible” knows how big this is.
Hopefully, the next $15 we spend on top of the last $15 on top of the first $60 is worth it (which makes the total price $90).
